Privacy Policy

Restyld (“Restyld”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an AI styling app operated by HidenaLab. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Restyld mobile app (“the App”) and our website (restyldai.com) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Restyld to be private by design — this page describes exactly how.
Our core privacy promise
Restyld is designed so your photos stay yours:
- Originals never leave your device. The full photos you take live only in your phone’s photo library. We do not upload them to our servers.
- Metadata is stripped — and faces are blurred — before anything is sent for AI analysis. When the App needs AI help, it removes photo metadata (EXIF — including location, time, and device details) and blurs detected faces on your device before sending the photo for analysis. This always applies to photos sent for AI styling and is not something you need to switch on. Automatic face detection runs on-device and may, on rare occasions, miss a face. (The face-blur option in the App’s Privacy settings controls something different: whether posts you choose to share to the community feed hide your face by default.)
- On-device first. Your photo is prepared on your phone — resized, metadata removed, and faces blurred — before any cloud request, so less data leaves your device in the first place.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, optionally, your first name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and the email associated with that sign-in (Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your real address).
- Style profile. During onboarding you may provide details such as gender, height, body type, and style preferences to personalize recommendations.
- Closet and outfit data. Processed images (metadata removed), AI-derived attributes (such as category and color), and your saved looks and outfit history.
- Community posts. If you choose to share a look to the App’s community feed, the photo, caption, and tags you post are visible to other Restyld users, along with your display name. Posting is optional; you can blur your face on any post (and set that as your default in Privacy settings), and you can delete your posts at any time.
- Subscription information. If you purchase a subscription, the payment itself is handled by Apple through the App Store — we never receive your full payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage and verify your subscription status, which receives your account identifier and purchase status (not your payment card).
- Advertising data. On the free plan, the ads we show (see “Advertising” below) involve limited, non-tracking data such as a coarse ad request and general device information, processed by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. We request non-personalized ads only and do not use the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Diagnostics. Crash and error reports and basic device/OS information, to keep the App working and fix problems.
We do not collect your original, unprocessed photos.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- provide and operate the App’s core features (closet, outfit analysis, and recommendations);
- generate AI styling feedback and suggestions;
- manage your account, subscription, and support requests;
- diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the App.
AI processing and service providers
To deliver styling features, the processed photo (metadata removed and faces blurred) and related profile context are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), through our backend. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models, and retains it only briefly (up to about 30 days) before deletion. We rely on a small set of service providers (“subprocessors”) to run Restyld:
- Supabase — application backend, database, authentication, and storage.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI styling analysis.
- Apple and Google — sign-in (if you choose those methods).
- Apple — subscription billing through the App Store (if you subscribe).
- RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation.
- Google AdMob — serving and measuring ads on the free plan (non-personalized; no cross-app tracking).
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
These providers process data only to perform services for us and are bound by their own data-protection obligations.
Advertising
On the free plan, Restyld shows ads from Google AdMob: an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch to earn an extra daily credit, and a small banner while an outfit analysis is processing. Paid subscribers see no ads.
Restyld requests non-personalized ads only — we do not use the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not track you across other apps or websites for advertising. To serve, cap, and measure ads and to help prevent fraud, AdMob processes limited information such as a coarse ad request and general device data. Where required (for example in the EU/UK), we show Google’s consent prompt before requesting ads.
Our website (restyldai.com)
Our website is separate from the App and processes a little data of its own:
- Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site (such as pages viewed) so we can improve it. PostHog stores an identifier in your browser (cookie / local storage) for this.
- Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you provide to notify you about the launch. It is stored by Supabase, used to send you a confirmation through our email provider, Resend, and — if you signed up — associated with your analytics activity. You can ask us to remove it anytime at support@restyldai.com.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. Content you choose to post to the community feed is visible to other users, as described above. Beyond that, we share information only with the service providers above to operate the App, or when required by law (for example, to comply with a valid legal request) or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Restyld.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can export a copy of your data at any time from Profile → Export my data, and delete your account from Profile → Delete account in the App. Deleting your account permanently removes your closet, saved looks, and profile data, and purges the associated images from our storage. We keep a minimal, non-content record of deletion requests (such as a request identifier and timestamp) to comply with our legal obligations.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR, California’s CCPA/CPRA, or Korea’s PIPA). You can exercise most of these directly in the App, or contact us at support@restyldai.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
International data transfers
Restyld is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws different from those in your country; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Children's privacy
Restyld is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA) to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
